Before going on vacation, I was told that India is the place to shop. Everything is so cheap, that I can buy lots of clothes for much less than I am used to paying. I was pretty excited about this, as I hate spending lots of money on clothes. I usually stain or ruin them in a short amount of time and it isn't worth the extra cash. Well, they were right. I could buy lots of things cheaply there. What they do not tell you is that they are so cheaply made! If you buy a pair of pants for $5, can you really be upset when they fall apart the first time you wear them? YES, and I was! We have the Family Dollar, where I can buy shirts for $5 or less (if on sale) and they last a lot longer than that. Granted, they are not the same cuteness and styles of India, but geez.
So,when I came back to work and people asked if I bought a lot, I told them no. Cheap prices doesn't mean the money is worth spending. I will gladly wait until I am back home and spend a few extra dollars to shop at Kohl's, Target, and Goodwill (my fav. store!) to get clothes that will last me at least 6 months to a year. Sorry, India. You didn't win me over on this one.
