Insightful school doctor...

Today, I woke up feeling like someone had filled my head with slime. Yes, it is that dreaded weather-changing sinus cold that has struck and I feel like crap. I get to work and my assistant immediate begins to mother-hen me, which is really nice and really funny, since she is only 22. But, she goes to the doctor and gets me medicine to take. I would have gone, but our doctor doesn't speak a lick of English. Anyway, I get some stuff that is like alkaseltzer, but for kids. Another one of our staff sees me with it while getting hot water and says that there is adult stuff...stronger. So, she takes me to the doctor and has her give me that one. The doctor is nice enough to even mix it for me, as the water I had was too hot and I didn't understand her attempt to explain room temperature to me. After she makes it, I thank her in Russian and go back to my room.

Here is the insightful part on her....I HATE taking medicines you drink. I almost always REFUSE alkaseltzer, etc. So, I am sipping it in my room, hating it, and she walks in! She told my other assistant to tell me to drink it all! She must have that "I'm a doctor and can see stubborn patients a mile away" gene. She actually stayed long enough to make sure over half of it was gone. It did help with the sneezing and running nose, but my head feels like it weighs 100 pounds. So, I am off to get a nap now. I think I'll just try to avoid her tomorrow so she doesn't make me drink any more stuff. ;)
